1. Turn it on and make sure the wax atomizer is working properly.

Some wax pens do not have a power button. Instead, they are draw-activated meaning that you need to pull a hit via the mouthpiece to activate their batteries.

Checking whether the wax pen’s atomizer/ coil is working properly is very essential. This practice ensures you do not waste your wax concentrate by loading it onto the wax pen when it is not working.

For a working coil, you should see it heat up within a few seconds after activating the battery. Also, you can feel the heat come off the atomizer but always take caution not to touch the device as it can burn you.

2. Pack/ load the wax pen’s chamber with the wax concentrate.

Now that you are assured that the wax pen’s coil is functional, you can load the wax chamber. It is recommended that you load wax concentrate that is about the size of a grain of rice, every time you dab. If you load any less, you may have to reload it right away. Furthermore, if you load any more you may have too much wax on the device that can make it less efficient or create a sticky mess. 

Always use a dabber/ dab tool to load the wax concentrate onto the chamber. The dab tool keeps you safe from the coil’s heat. Also, they are designed to ensure you precisely and lightly drop the wax concentrate onto the coil and near it.

The coils in a wax pen can get damaged easily if they are not maintained cautiously. Always avoid making contact between the coil and the dab too when loading. Also, avoid pressing down too hard.

3. Vaping the wax concentrate.

The wax concentrate should start melting once you press the wax pen’s power button. The concentrate will then vaporize immediately; therefore ensure the mouthpiece is attached correctly. Always prime the wax pen’s coil before taking any hits as it will enable you to avoid dry hits. Priming is a very simple process. You just allow the wax concentrate to get heated and melt onto the coil for about 2 seconds before taking any hits.

Some wax pens do not have variable temperature control so you just heat the wax concentrate and take your hits.  

Nonetheless, other wax pens come with variable voltage batteries that enable you to adjust the temperature of the wax pen’s coil. This feature is particularly ideal for people who may need to customize their hits from time to time. The perfect temperature for vaping wax concentrates lies between 420°F and 550°F. Choosing the lower end of this range will make your wax pen create flavorful hits with less dense clouds and a decreased effect.  If you go for the higher end of this range will create less flavorful, but thick hits that can give you the full effect of the compounds in your wax concentrates in no time. 

Maintaining and cleaning your wax pen.

The first maintenance practice for your wax pen is avoiding over-packing or overloading it with wax concentrate. Otherwise, you can use a cotton swab dipped in isopropyl alcohol to wipe off any excess wax in the wax pen’s chamber or any dirt. Never use water to clean a wax pen and always be careful when cleaning the area around the electrical components. 

Furthermore, the wax pen’s coil may need to be replaced from time to time. The ideal period after which it should be replaced depends on the type of user. A heavy user may need to do the replacement after a couple of months while a light user can do it after a year. The coil should be replaced once you detect a drop in the performance, or once it starts creating burnt hits. Also, you should replace a coil that does not function even when the battery has enough charge.

But yeah I might not recommend vaping a burnt coil for an extended time, like I said if your during a situation where you only can’t swap your coil, meh I might not worry if you’re trying to save lots of money by doing that with every coil you employ then yes it probably will have negative side effects. You just got to be consistently burning the cotton, the coil, and therefore the gunk residue buildup on the cotton/coil, more and more till you’re vaping unwanted chemical byproducts.

You have to understand vaping is safer because you’re NOT BURNING anything, just vaporizing liquid, so a bit like burning tobacco, which is what creates the really bad chemicals, the particular act of burning, (btw same thing that creates wood smoke, or any toxic smoke) so if you’re inhaling burning cotton/coil your inhaling chemicals because shit burning equals chemicals that normally wouldn’t be there being released, Hell might also smoke a cigarette, and I’m an ex-smoker turned vaper, so I don’t say that in jest.

If you can’t live that long without nicotine, till you’ll buy more coils, either put a drop or two of e-liquid on your tongue, that’s what I do if I cannot vape. Or better yet switch to rebuildable tank atomizers or rebuildable drip atomizers.

I have heard the unity profile mesh RTA, I own the RDA it’s specialized, but I even have heard the RTA version is just about sort of a sub-ohm tank, and you’ll get 10 mesh strips for 5$ and a few cotton for 10–15$ on Amazon, I’d get cotton bacon prime, or Koh gen does, or Muji, and you’ll burn the crud off the mesh and reuse an equivalent mesh strip for a month, and just replace the cotton every 5–6 tanks, or depends how you vape.

There are some appalling lies and much ignorance shown within the answers to the present question. It’s caused by VERY future exposure to VERY high levels of Diacetyl. This was only found in popcorn factories and other personalities who got it worked there for many years. 

there’s considerably more (like 10x more) Diacetyl in cigarette smoke than there wont to be in vape juice. 

Reputable manufacturers have not used Diacetyl for flavoring anyway. Not for several years. Popcorn lung is therefore a scare story repeated by ill-educated people during a desperate plan to smear vaping.

As for people holding their vape in their lungs for an extended time…… If you are doing an equivalent with the air you’ll still breathe more heavily than you otherwise would and possibly feel light-headed. 

The body still must breathe people……. But when inhaling vape, you continue to absorb a pleasant amount of air. If people can inhale large amounts of cigarette smoke and still absorb enough air then the vapor isn’t getting to be a difficulty.

The amount of nicotine you’re taking in depends entirely on the combination you employ. Most large bottles within the UK are now sold without nicotine and are available with a little nicotine bottle to feature. If you add LOADS to the bottle then you’ll absorb high amounts of nicotine. If you don’t, you won’t. It’s that straightforward.

Hot poisonous gases were mentioned….. If there was the slightest hint that vaping produced hot poisonous gases then the whole industry would be banned by health authorities immediately. It doesn’t, so it isn’t. It produces a vapor mainly of water with nicotine (if you added it).

The bell glass experiments? Don’t make me laugh…. The cigarette was inhaled continuously until it burned out….. Unless you’ll inhale continuously for 4 minutes then it’s not relevant. The vape was done in an equivalent way…. continuously.

You’ll notice that folks vape by inhaling for a couple of seconds then stops. If you retain your vape trigger down for quite 10–15 seconds it’ll burn the coil and you’ll then inhale bad stuff but nobody does it because NOBODY INHALES FOR quite a couple of SECONDS. These “tests” are therefore utter nonsense.
