Have you tried Cannabis Edibles? Was it worth it?

The first time I tried cannabis edibles, I remember telling myself that, “ I truly feel relaxed.” Even though I was a little unsure in the beginning because cannabis edibles work quite differently than other forms of cannabis products.

You see, when you eat a cannabis edible, first the digestion process takes place and then the effects begin to show up. For me, the effects started showing after three hours of consumption. It may be not the same for you but cannabis affects the biochemistry of each individual differently. Also, factors like body weight, body mass, digestion rate, and cannabis quantity play a major role.

As it was my first time so I obviously started small. And I suggest you do the same. Especially if it’s your first time. And don’t forget to use your medical marijuana card because highly potent cannabis strains can be really expensive. You see, with the help of a cannabis card I was able to save some money and so can you. That said, let me briefly share my experience after eating cannabis edibles for the first time.

So, as soon as the effects started showing up, a sudden rush of relaxation and calmness flowed through my body. Much needed after a hectic day at the office. Also, I went off to sleep on time (which is very difficult for me) and I slept like a log. Woke up the next morning feeling relaxed, refreshed. The bottom line is that my entire experience with cannabis edibles was quite good. Although you have to keep one thing in mind. The dose was controlled and I do not eat cannabis edibles regularly.

  • What Makes Marijuana Edibles so Dangerous?

Edibles are cannabis-infused baked goods, brownies, gummies, chocolates, and beverages. However, before eating them, you must be aware of the risks associated with them. The major risk is they deliver long-lasting high effects.

They last for several hours depending on the amount of THC consumed. Moreover, in many edibles, the amount of THC is quite difficult to measure. So, the effects are quite unpredictable. If you take higher doses of edibles, they may lead to anxiety, paranoia, etc. However, in children, edibles may cause respiratory insufficiency.

Additionally, edibles have delayed onset. In other words, they take longer to kick in while smoking and vaping deliver immediate effects. Medical experts believe that patients may have to wait for 30 minutes to 2 hours to experience marijuana’s therapeutic effects.

So, to avoid the side-effects, make sure you buy cannabis products from licensed dispensaries only. It’s good to talk to a board-certified doctor to seek professional help regarding marijuana use for health benefits. Get a medical marijuana card to access cannabis legally.
